Privacy Policy

Effective July 31, 2026 · Applies to the Steadily app (Android and iOS) and this website.

The short version: everything you log — meals, medication doses, symptoms, weight — is stored on your device by default, and Steadily works fully offline with no account required. The only things that ever leave your phone are a meal photo or description if you turn on AI scanning, a barcode number if you scan one, anonymous usage counts, and your subscription status. We run no ads, use no advertising SDK, and never sell or share your data for advertising.

What Steadily is

Steadily is a self-tracking app for people on GLP-1 medications (semaglutide, tirzepatide, and similar). It logs meals, protein, medication doses and injection sites, side effects, weight, and body composition, and turns that into simple trends and a PDF you can bring to your prescriber.

Steadily is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It never recommends a dose or a change to your treatment. Talk to your prescriber about your medication.

What we collect, and where it lives

On your device (the default for everything): meals and portions, meal photos (only if you choose to keep them), medication name/dose/injection site and timing, side effects you log, weight and body-fat entries, water intake, and your app settings. This is stored in the app's private local storage. Steadily is fully functional offline and does not require creating an account.

Apple Health (iPhone only, optional, read-only): if you connect it, Steadily reads your weight, body fat, and workouts to power trends and a "how much of your loss was fat vs. muscle" insight. This is read-only — Steadily never writes to Apple Health or iCloud, never shares this data with anyone else, and never uses it for advertising. (This integration is not part of the current Android release.)

AI meal scanning (optional — off until you say yes): before your first scan, Steadily asks you to explicitly agree. If you photograph a meal, the photo is resized and re-encoded on your phone — which strips location (EXIF/GPS) data — before anything is sent anywhere. The photo or your typed description is then sent to Steadily's backend, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude AI models to estimate calories, protein, and fiber. You choose, per scan, whether to keep the photo (stored in a private folder tied only to that scan) or have it analyzed and immediately discarded. Free scans are limited to 3/day; unlimited manual, barcode, and text logging is always free.

Barcode scans: the barcode number is sent directly from your phone to OpenFoodFacts, a free public food database, to look up nutrition facts. No Steadily account or server is involved in that specific lookup.

Voice logging (where available): your speech is converted to text entirely on your device. Audio is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere.

Purchases: Steadily+ subscriptions are billed through Google Play. RevenueCat tracks which plan is active on your account so the app can unlock the right features. Neither Google Play nor RevenueCat receives your meals, medication log, or any other health data.

What we never ask for: your precise or approximate location (the permission is blocked at the app level, not just unused), access to your photo library (the camera can only take a new picture, not browse existing ones), contacts, or SMS.

Your health and medication data, specifically

We know this is the sensitive part. Medication name, dose, injection site and timing, side effects, weight, and body-fat entries are stored locally on your device by default and are not transmitted anywhere unless a specific feature you use requires it (for example, the photo or text you submit for AI meal analysis, above). Our product-analytics tool only ever receives that an event happened — "a shot was logged," "a meal was logged" — never the medication, dose, weight value, or any other content.

Who processes data for us

None of these are advertising or data-broker companies. Steadily has no advertising SDK of any kind, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone, ever.

How long we keep it

Data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Data that ever reaches our backend (only created by using AI scanning or similar features) is kept only as long as needed to provide that feature, and is purged within 30 days of a deletion request, including from backups.

Your controls

You can also reach us directly (below) to ask what we hold or to request deletion.

Security

Data sent over the network is encrypted in transit (TLS). Our database enforces row-level security on every table, so the backend structurally cannot return one user's data to another user's request. Photos are kept in a private storage folder scoped to the specific scan, not a public bucket. No privileged server key is ever built into the app itself.

Children

Steadily is intended for adults managing a prescribed GLP-1 medication and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how Steadily handles data, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app before the change takes effect.

Not medical advice — again, because it matters

Steadily is a self-tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical, dosing, or treatment advice. Always talk to your prescriber about your treatment.
